PURPOSE OF VISIT AURORA
Visit Aurora is a 501(c)(6) Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) that creates, plans and implements sales, marketing, and public relations programs that attract conventions, trade shows, media and leisure travelers into Aurora, Colorado, thereby ensuring the area of certain economic benefits.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Sales Manager position is responsible for effective and consistent support of sales team and individual activities and processes, documenting activities in the Visit Aurora CRM, processing meetings and other opportunities for assigned markets and/or territories, achieving individual sales goals, generating economic impact, supporting sales group projects and initiatives, maintaining an awareness of Aurora as a destination, and cultivating relationships and engagement with Visit Aurora clients and stakeholders in accordance with the objectives set forth in the Visit Aurora sales plan of work.

SUPERVISORY RELATIONS
This position reports to the Director of Sales.
SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including digital and phone
- Ability to identify and cultivate productive and lasting relationships with clients, members, stakeholders, etc.
- Experience with account management, sales activities and processes, reporting, and contracting
- Ability to become an expert on Aurora as a convention and meeting destination
- Proficiency utilizing cloud-based CRM
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Proficiency in utilizing industry software such as Mint, Knowland, and Cvent
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supporting Sales Activities & Processes
- Consistently and efficiently support sales processes to create and maintain account, contact, lead, and distribution lists
- Provide regular reports of activities and processes
- Follow consistent and productive sales processes
Sales Activities & Processes
- Customarily and regularly engage with partners, clients and potential clients in your assigned market/territory to obtain orders and/or contracts for services or for the use of facilities at Visit Aurora hotels
- Consistently execute sales activities including: solicitations, meetings, site inspections, etc. based on established activity goals, markets, and priorities
- Attend trade shows and other related industry events
- Follow consistent and productive sales processes
- Regularly review and assess sales activities and processes for effectiveness and suggest revisions as needed
- Provide regular reports of activities and processes
CRM Utilization
- Utilize the Visit Aurora CRM consistently and efficiently
- Ensure that all assigned accounts, contacts, and data is correct and periodically checked for accuracy and relevance
- Ensure that all sales activities and processes are correctly entered and tracked
- Ensure that all leads are correctly entered, complete, and tracked throughout the sales process
Processing Meeting and Other Opportunities
- Process assigned leads and/or RFPs and distribute to Visit Aurora hotels
- Assist with the collections and/or creation of proposals and bid presentations
- Collaborate with partners and clients to turn opportunities definite at Visit Aurora hotels
Achieving Sales Goals
- Utilizing industry contacts, resources, etc. identify accounts and contacts with meeting opportunities for assigned markets/territories
- Utilizing industry contacts, resources, etc. identify lead and/or RFP opportunities for assigned markets/territories
- Collaborate with partners and clients to turn opportunities definite at Visit Aurora hotels
- Efficiently achieve or exceed sales goals
- Consistently review and assess effectiveness and revise as needed
Economic Impact
- Generate opportunities for economic impact through lead generation and sharing those opportunities with Visit Aurora hotels
- Generate economic impact through booking definite meeting business with Visit Aurora hotels
- Generate and record estimated economic impact using industry-recognized economic impact calculators and the Visit Aurora CRM
- Provide regular reports of economic impact
Supporting Sales Group Projects and Initiatives
- Support assigned sales group projects including: CRM management, research, etc.
- Support assigned sales group projects including: site experiences, FAM experiences, trade shows, etc.
Destination Awareness
- Develop and maintain an awareness of Aurora as a destination for convention and meeting business
- Cultivate an awareness of Aurora as a destination for convention and meeting business amongst stakeholders, clients, and within the industry
Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify and cultivate productive and lasting relationships with stakeholders, clients, and community members
- Cultivate productive relationships with Visit Aurora hotels through frequent and consistent communication, engagement, networking events, educational events, etc.
