Women In Business Committee - It’s True: No Two Women are Alike! - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Chamber is putting on a special presentation to discuss the importance of your own health.

Dr. Lora Barke is a board certified, fellowship trained Diagnostic Radiologist who specializes in Breast  and Women’s Imaging. She completed her Breast Imaging Fellowship at Northwestern University  Feinberg School of Medicine. Her most current position of leadership is Medical Director and Lead  Interpreting Physician at Invision Sally Jobe Breast Centers and Breast Imaging Section Chief for  Radiology Imaging Associates.

 Dr. Barke has volunteered her time and expertise to numerous national  committees that work tirelessly to set the bar high for standards of breast imaging such as the American  College of Radiology, the FDA’s National Mammography Quality Assurance Advisory Committee, the  Institute of Medicine’s National Cancer Policy Forum and the National Accreditation Program for Breast  Centers. Dr. Barke has also lent her time and resources to clinical research studies that have helped  introduce cutting edge technology, such as Digital Breast Tomosynthesis. 

 Her most noted collaborative  publication is an investigative research article entitled, “Breast Cancer Screening Using Tomosynthesis in  Combination with Digital Mammography” published June 2014 in JAMA and she is a recent recipient of  the 2018 Susan G. Komen Colorado Rebecca Haddad Ambassador Award.
