WEBINAR: Trauma and COVID-19
Participants will:
- Understand a variety of direct traumatic impacts of the current COVID-19 crisis.
- Understand how the current crisis is evoking adaptive trauma responses for people with histories of traumatic experiences.
- Consider implications of the current crisis for those in ongoing traumatic situations.
- Learn how to counter the effects of physical distancing, support an internal sense of agency and felt safety for ourselves and others, and mitigate potential traumatic impacts.
Presenter, Kate Dunn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addictions Counselor. She has worked with children and adolescents and their families in numerous roles in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, outpatient treatment, in-home services, and public schools.
Kate currently works as a school-based therapist for Aurora Mental Health Center and is an adjunct faculty member at Metropolitan State University of Denver and University of Denver.
