WEBINAR: Living with worry
What triggers worry -
Some of the things that trigger worry include the “what if’s”, ambiguous interruptions, no experiences to fall back on, and unpredictability on how things will turn out. Our current world situation checks off the boxes. This leads to worry and anxiety.
Different types of worries –
Worry can be helpful or unhelpful and include Real problem vs. Hypothetical worry. Real world problems are actual problems affecting you right now. Hypothetical worries are things that do not currently exist, but might happen in the future.
When worries become a problem –
Normal worry helps you get what you want. Excessive worry gets in the way of living the life you want to live. I will also discuss a decision tree to recognize real problem vs hypothetical worries.
Finding balance-
Doing activities that give pleasure, achievement, and closeness. Identify real problems vs hypothetical worries. Practice postponing worry. Speak and treat yourself with compassion, practice mindfulness. I will discuss activities to stay occupied and reduce worry.
