Join us for our final BRMAC meeting of the year, featuring a special panel discussion with leaders from the University of Denver and community partners who are advancing veteran well-being through behavioral health, research, legal advocacy, and community support.

Panelists include:

• Dr. Katy Barrs – Clinical Associate Professor & Director, Sturm Center

• Dr. Kevin Morris – Executive Director, Institute for Human-Animal Connection (IHAC)

• Brad Cummings – Executive Director, Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project (RMVAP)

• Billie Baber – Advocate for Veteran Homelessness, Supportive Services for Veteran Families, Volunteers of America

This session will explore how clinical practice, academic research, legal advocacy, and community partnerships come together to strengthen Colorado’s military and veteran community. Attendees will gain insights into:

• The Sturm Center – Delivering behavioral health services and advanced professional training tailored to veterans and military families.

• Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project (RMVAP) – Supporting veterans through legal assistance and advocacy via DU’s Sturm College of Law.

• Institute for Human-Animal Connection: Service Dog Study – Advancing research on the impact of service dogs on veteran mental health and well-being.

• Community-Based Support – Addressing gaps for homeless veterans through cross-sector collaboration.

Evening Celebration

Immediately following the BRMAC meeting, we will adjourn to the bar on site, just in time for you to join us for the Aurora Chamber of Commerce Holiday Party, beginning at 5:00 PM at the same location.
